The Lower Cohase Regional Chamber of Commerce is committed to fostering a vibrant economic climate by encouraging cooperation and communication among the region’s communities, while ensuring a high quality of life.
Founded in 2002, the Lower Cohase Regional Chamber of Commerce serves the towns of Haverhill and Piermont in New Hampshire and Bradford and Newbury in Vermont. We are a tax exempt 501(c)(6) non-profit organization. We have shortened our name on most documents to the Cohase Chamber of Commerce for convenience. Our fiscal year begins with January 1st of each new year.
The following is just some of what the Cohase Chamber of Commerce does on behalf of our membership and the region.
- Annual full color Area Guide and Map
We advertise our member businesses throughout the year with a free listing and locator placement on our popular annual full color Area Guide and Map. Over 30,000 of these Map and Guilds are printed and distributed though out the region and by travel/tourism establishments in both states. - Business Directory and Web Page
We offer members a free listing and web page, or link to your web page, on the Business Directory of our website, www.cohase.org. - Regional Marketing
The Chamber promotes new business in the area though announcements and advertisements to its members and to the public. We represent the region through our participation on the Regional Marketing Program for the Eastern VT area and through state tourism websites. - Sponsoring Popular Tourism and Marketing Events
We sponsor The Whole Hog Music & BBQ Festival, and co-sponsor Paddle the Border, Vermont North By-hand Artisans' Studio Tours, The Alumni Hall Photography Contest, and Farmer's Markets to attract tourism. - Networking
We offer networking opportunities through Chamber sponsored events such as: Business After Hours, Cohase Region Economic Summits, Shop Local Initiatives, Joint Merchant Breakfasts, and an Annual Dinner. - Affordable Group Health and Dental Care
We offer access to affordable group health and dental care for employees of Vermont businesses through our partnership with the Vermont Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.
To accomplish the work of the chamber the Cohase Chamber has a Board of Directors, an Executive Committee, and four standing sub-committees. The sub-committees include Membership, Events, Publicity, and Economic Development. Ad-hoc sub-committees are occasionally formed to address short term or one time needs. If you have a passion or just some spare time and energy to pitch in to the effort please do not hesitate to contact our executive director and he will find a way for you to contribute.
