The Local Buzz was started by Sarah Copeland-Hanzas and Terry Bassett to fill a void in our community. We saw that this area needed not only a place to get a great espresso, a delicious dessert, or a tasty lunch, but also a place where everyone who comes in can call it their own. We wanted our new café to be a spot where locals stop in to see what’s going on around town, and where passers by can get a feel for what this community is all about.
We started talking to our friends and neighbors about our idea, and we kept hearing “Oh, good coffee would be wonderful! How about also selling . . .” What we kept hearing was that locals wanted a place to purchase local food products like grass-fed beef, artisan breads, honey, farmstead cheese, and more. Thus was born the idea for an inside farmers' market of sorts. Local farmers and artisans bring their goods in and offer them for sale at fair prices.
In addition, The Local Buzz makes a continuous effort to cross-promote other local businesses through our in-store community boards, signage and publications. We are the place
for all things local!
