This tour guides visitors to historic sites of interest in the Lower Cohase towns of Vermont and New Hampshire nestled in the beautiful valley of the Connecticut River. The region encompasses the Vermont towns of Newbury (includes Wells River and Newbury Village) and Bradford and the New Hampshire towns of Haverhill (which includes Woodsville, North Haverhill, and Haverhill Corner) and Piermont.

The area's communities, which inhabit the east and west borders along the Connecticut River, have long shared many interests and activities. Before Lower Cohase existed, before the states of Vermont and New Hampshire existed, there was a move to make this area a separate entity to be known as New Connecticut. That movement did not succeed, but today the towns lining this 15-mile stretch along the Connecticut River comprise the Lower Cohase Region. In addition to historic sites, this tour provides lovely views of the Connecticut River and the surrounding hills and mountains.
